Brennan Center Studies
The Brennan Center for Justice is a non-partisan public policy and law institute that focuses on the fundamental issues of democracy and justice. Their work ranges from voting rights to redistricting reform, from access to the courts to presidential power in the fight against terrorism. A singular institution – part think tank, part public interest law firm, part advocacy group – the Brennan Center combines scholarship, legislative and legal advocacy, and communications to win meaningful, measurable change in the public sector.  Here are 2 studies done by the Brennan Center which are a focal point in our campaign.

Unregulated Work in the Global City was motivated by a simple premis: the many laws on the books to protect the working poor mean little if they are not enforced.  The report focuses on New York City, but we are convinced that the conditions it describes exist throughout the American economy

In fact, it's often the stores with the highest prices and most expensive foods that pay their workers the least.  But it doesnt have to be this way.  Many businesses take the high road, providing good jobs and still making good profits.  As residents, community leaders and people of faith, we can hold the owners of these gourmet grocery stores accountable.  We can call on them to act with integrity - create good jobs with fair pay and just treatment of their workers.
